Telephone tales is an awarded -with the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1970- book of Gianni Rodari, gorgeously illustrated by Italian artist Valerio Vidali​. Rodari is widely considered to be Italy’s most important children’s author of the 20th century. The story is set in the 20th century, era of pay phones and is composed of many stories within a story.

The main issue of this project was to fit the past century's Italian culture into a modern world, without losing the authenticity of the author and the illustrator.
